Donald Trump’s surprise victory is, at least in the short term, a ‘non-event’ for the private equity real estate industry as investors and fund managers monitor markets without racing to act.

Felicity Ambler, the former head of distribution at Australian real estate debt investment manager MaxCap Group, has joined the Melbourne-based private equity real estate investment and advisory house.

Christopher Chiang, former senior director at CBRE’s capital advisory team, has joined the Swiss Bank’s real estate investment management team to lead its Asia Pacific strategy.

The former co-head of Park Hill Real Estate is now working with the real estate and real assets capital advisory firm led by his former colleague, Walter Stackler.

The London-based retail property asset manager has said the appointment of long-serving executive David Fletcher marks the end of the succession planning that began when company founder Paul Whight sold his majority stake in the firm to his business partner and company chairman Colin Campbell in 2015. 

Nick Crockett, the head of CBRE’s capital advisors team in Asia-Pacific, is stepping down from his leadership position and will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

Carsten Stendevad, who had led the $120bn Danish pension since 2013, left in August and was replaced by an executive from Nordea.

The real estate investment manager has appointed Jing Dong Lai as acquisitions director for Asia, filling the position left vacant after chief executive Chiang Ling Ng’s promotion earlier this year.

The Charlotte-based firm has recruited Göran Bengtsson, Aberdeen Asset Management’s head of asset management Nordics, to head up its business in the region. Although based in Stockholm, Bengtsson’s initial remit will also include expanding into the Danish and Norwegian markets.
