Starwood affiliate hires VP

A Florida-based affiliate of Barry Sternlicht’s Starwood Capital has hired Cory Boydston as its new senior vice president.

Starwood Land ventures, a Sarasota, Florida-based residential real estate investment firm, has hired former Lennar Corporation executive Cory Boydston as senior vice president. Boydston will be based in the firm’s Atlanta office.
 
In her new role, Boydston will be responsible for all finance functions, and will lead the firm's efforts to source investment opportunities with lenders and land bankers. She will also structure strategic ventures with lenders, builders and developers across the country and will be a member of Starwood Land's investment committee.

Over the past twenty years Boydston has held senior financial positions with two of the nation's largest homebuilders, Lennar Corporation and Beazer Homes.
 
Starwood Land Ventures focuses on land acquisition, development and financing nationwide. The firm is an affiliate of Greenwich, CT-based Starwood Capital Group Global. Its real estate-related investments include residential and commercial land development, multifamily, hotel, office, retail, mixed-use, industrial, health clubs, golf and mezzanine debt. The firm has also led the formation or growth financing of Societe du Louvre, Europe's second-largest hotel network; iStar Financial , a publicly traded finance company specializing in commercial real estate mortgage; Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide; Westin Hotels & Resorts which was merged into Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in January 1998; and National Golf Properties/American Golf Corporation. It also led participated in the growth of Equity Residential Properties Trust.
