Russell Investments makes hire for Asia Pacific

Martin Lamb, who previously worked for the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, has been hired by the service provider to join the Singapore office as head of Asia Pacific property.

Russell Investments, an investment advisory subsidiary of US-based Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, has hired Martin Lamb as head of property, Asia Pacific.

Working within the real estate team, Lamb will be based in Russell’s Asian Headquarters in Singapore. He will be responsible for private fund research for Asia, and he will also have responsibilities for some of Russell’s funds which are domiciled in Singapore. in the region and will have portfolio management responsibilities for certain Russell funds domiciled there. He will reports to Russell’s managing director for Asia Bruce Pflaum.

Lamb has more than 20 years experience in the commercial real estate industry, including investment experience at The Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, AIG Global Real Estate Group, and The O’Connor Group.  Before working at Russell Lamb was senior vice president of Gerrity International, a retail shopping center developer in China.  In that role, Lamb founded and managed the firm’s Shanghai office, and was active in the firm’s initiatives in India and Mexico.

Overall, Russell has more than 20 real estate associates located in Tacoma, San Diego, London, New York, Singapore and Sydney. The service provider advises clients on a variety of real estate development projects. The firm has covered Australia, Japan and India for some time, but so far that research has been done from the US or Europe.
