Rockwood Capital has hired four new professionals for its New York and Los Angeles offices, including former JER Partners executive Dwight Arnesen.

Arnesen has been appointed senior managing director in charge of the firm’s portfolio and asset management group, located in the White Plains, New York office.

Arnesen joined JER in April 2008 as part of then chief operating officer Michael Pralle’s expansion plans for the company. The firm has however seen a raft of departures, including Pralle, as it focuses on asset management. Arnesen was also US acquisitions co-head at Starwood Capital group.

In a statement, Rockwood said three other people also recently joined the firm, including former CBRE Investors managed accounts senior managing director Scott Stuckman. Stuckman joins Rockwood’s Los Angeles office as portfolio manager of the firm’s separate account client.

Ex-BlackRock Realty director Joel Mayer joins Rockwood’s Los Angeles team as director and head of retail after previously helping raise the $500m BlackRock Retail Opportunity Fund.

Marti Breier, previously an associate with Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, joins Rockwood as legal counsel in the White Plains office.
