Palatium appoints MD

Newly-created European private equity real estate firm Palatium Investment Management has taken on Adam Shutkever, a former managing director with Deutsche Bank.

Paul Rivlin and Neil Lawson-May’s firm, Palatium Investment Management, has taken on Adam Shutkever as managing director.

Shutkever was most recently chief financial officer at support services group Accor and is a former managing director at Deutsche Bank where he specialised in mergers and acquisitions in the hotel, leisure and entertainment sectors.

Palatium was set up earlier this year by Rivlin and Lawson-May, the duo that led Eurohypo’s property investment banking division. They led a management buyout of the German bank’s commercial real estate asset management business.

Lawson-May said the appointment showed that there were real opportunities in the real estate and real estate debt industry.

The firm has said in the past that its maiden vehicle will almost certainly be a debt fund.
