JPMorgan appoints head of research and strategy

Joe Valente, previously at German insurer Allianz and property services firm DTZ has joined JPMorgan Asset Management’s Global Real Assets group to help further expand the European real estate business.


Joe Valente, one of the best-known real estate researchers in European property, has joined JPMorgan as head of research and strategy in its Global Real Assets business.

He joined from Allianz Real Estate in Germany which he joined in 2007 and where he was head of investment strategy. Prior to that he was global head of research at property services firm DTZ, where he made his name among other things for publishing the influential DTZ Money Into Property Report.

Valente will report directly to Peter Reilly, head of real estate Europe at JPMorgan Asset Management and will be based in London.

Reilly said in a statement on the hire: “The European real estate market is experiencing a marked increase in activity. As we continue to expand our footprint across Europe, we look to employ the highest calibre individuals to support this activity. Joe’s extensive knowledge and experience of investing in European real estate over a number of market cycles makes him a key addition to the team.”

Valente said in the statement that the bank’s presence in the European real estate market had grown dramatically over recent years, taking advantage of investment opportunities for clients.
