Helix bolsters US staff

Global private equity placement agent Helix continues its US expansion, with the addition of a senior vice president to its New York office.

UK-based private equity fund placement agency Helix Associates continues the build up of its US team with the hire of Karen Christofferson as senior vice president for its New York office.

Christofferson served previously as a vice president in the investment banking division of JPMorgan Chase and its predecessor firms.

Her analytical skills and experience are expected to enhance the placement agent’s North American operations, Mark Hallock, head of Helix’s US team, noted in a prepared statement.

In addition to Hallock, Christofferson joins Managing Directors Phil Kemp and Wanda Felton. She will lead the firm’s New York team in its research, analysis and due diligence for North American clientele, according to the statement issued by Helix’s parent company, Jefferies International.

Jefferies, a New York-based investment bank, purchased Helix in May 2005, and since then the placement agent has helped clients close nine funds, raising more than $9.5 billion.
