Gaw Capital opens Euro office – Exclusive

The Hong Kong-based private equity real estate firm has taken space at an office it currently owns in London’s Clerkenwell.

Hong Kong-based private equity real estate firm, Gaw Capital Partners, has extended its global reach with the opening of its first office in Europe.

The firm has been an increasingly active buyer of property in the UK and, accordingly, has opened a subsidiary in an office in London in a bid to further enhance its position in the region’s property market.

It is understood to have opened its doors at Clerkenwell House, an approximately 10,000 square foot office which it owns, within the last fortnight.

The European office is overseen by managing principal Christina Gaw and is led on a day to day basis by Chris McCormack, the firm’s European investment director, and Andrew Rose, an asset manager. PERE understands that the firm intends to expand the team in due course.

Gaw Capital has been mainly investing in London office properties on behalf of Asian separate account clients, particularly Chinese insurers and Korean pensions. Among its investors are Waterside Paddington, Exchange Tower, Milton Gate, Tower Place and the Lloyd’s Building.
