Dragon appoints ING man

Vietnam firm Dragon Capital has appointed Fraser Wilson from Dutch bank ING to lead its property team.

Vietnam investment specialist Dragon Capital has appointed a head of property to replace Neil Thurston, who left earlier this year.

Fraser Wilson has taken up the role immediately, Dragon said in a statement.

Wilson was most recently at Dutch bank ING’s property investment management business where he was involved in buying assets for an opportunistic fund.

Dragon said Wilson would focus on investing the firm’s real estate fund fully.

Earlier this year it launched a closed-end vehicle for UK institutional and individual investors to invest in the Vietnamese property market.

The Dragon Capital Vietnam Property fund raised £45 million ($90 million) from UK institutional investors on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market. It was the largest AIM IPO for the month of April.

This is the sixth Vietnam-focused fund raised by Dragon Capital, but it is its first property fund. Its previous fund targeted the corporate and financial sectors as well as buyouts and debt.
