Composition Capital expands European deal team

The Amsterdam-based firm has hired Julie Helweg from Denmark’s Property Group as it gears up for Composition’s Europe Fund III.

Composition Capital, the Amsterdam based fund of funds manager, has beefed up its European deal team with the addition of Julie Helweg.

Helweg is joining from Property Group in Copenhagen, where she was responsible for the acquisition and management of commercial real estate in the Nordics, a region the company expects to select managers in.

The company said it was expanding its European deal team as it looks to select managers for its upcoming Composition’s Europe Fund III.

Maarten Vermeulen, Composition’s European fund director, said Helweg’s experience and degrees in economics, business and finance would complement and enhance the team. He added: “The Nordics region will be an important element of our strategy in the future.”

Vermeulen himself was one of three hires Composition made in July last year as it looked towards fresh funds raising activity.

He came from London-based Protego, where he was director responsible for European asset management, outside the UK.

The other two new joiners were Morag Beers, previously TCN international portfolio strategist, and Lionel Low, formerly with ARA Managers.

Its last fund, Composition Capital Europe II, garnered €184 million of subscriptions.
