AREA Property Partners has recruited Alban Liss from Generali Real Estate to launch a Paris office and lead investment activities in France.
The New York firm already has a London base from which it scouts deals in Europe.
In a statement today, the firm said Liss had been responsible for both the investment and asset management activities at Generali having been appointed worldwide head of international investments in 2008.
While he was at Generali France he led more than €4 billion of deals.
William Benjamin, managing partner of AREA's European business called France an important market for the firm.
“We expect to be active as it is well positioned to recover along with other European economies,” he said.
