Allianz names France RE head

Barbara Koreniouguine, former chief operating officer at BNP Paribas Real Estate, has joined the German insurance giant to lead its real estate activities in France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Allianz Real Estate, the real estate investment arm of German insurer Allianz, has appointed Barbara Koreniouguine as chief executive of Allianz Real Estate France.

Koreniouguine will join the German insurance giant on September 1, 2015 and will be responsible for its real estate activities in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. She will also be a member of the executive committee and will report to Olivier Piani, chief executive of Allianz Real Estate.

She replaces Olivier Wigniolle who left Allianz to join French-listed real estate investment firm Icade.

Koreniouguine joins Allianz from BNP Paribas Real Estate where she spent six years working as: deputy chief executive of its residential and corporate property team, executive chairman of its commercial and residential development unit, and finally as chief operating officer.

Before joining BNP Paribas Real Estate in 2008, she was managing director of Icade.

Allianz Real Estate France currently manages on behalf of the Allianz Group property assets of around €7.7 billion.
