Aetos Capital Real Estate (ACRE) has hired Lisa Amzallag as managing director to oversee business development, capital raising and investor relations, the firm said Monday.
Amzallag joined the Asia-focused private equity real estate firm in this newly created role on Monday. She spent the last four years at LBA Advisors, a New York-based real estate and private assets advisory firm, according to her LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, she worked as a managing director at Asia Pacific Land Group for two years and also spent 17 years at Columbia University’s endowment, where she built a global real estate program and co-managed the private assets portfolio, covering private equity, venture capital and real assets, according to a statement from ACRE.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Lisa’s caliber join the firm,” said Scott Kelley, ACRE’s founder, in a statement Monday. “She brings significant experience and deep relationships throughout the institutional investing community and will be a strong member of the ACRE team.”
ACRE, founded in 2001, has purchased more than $10 billion of real estate in its core Asian markets, primarily Japan and China, according to a spokeswoman.
The firm’s most recent publicly-disclosed transaction was the sale of its stake in Simplex Investment Advisors Group to Japanese real estate operator Hulic in November for an undisclosed price, according to ACRE’s website.
