Winston & Strawn hires eight PE lawyers from Nixon Peabody

Four Nixon Peabody partners, including the chair of its private equity practice, and four associates will join Winston & Strawn’s New York office.

Chicago-based law firm Winston & Strawn has hired eight private equity lawyers from Nixon Peabody, significantly expanding its private equity practice. The new partners are Dominick DeChiara, Bradley Vaiana, Bryan Goldstein, and Jennifer Kurtis, who will work out of New York.
At Nixon Peabody, DeChiara chaired the private equity practice. She will co-chair Nixon Peabody’s private equity practice as well.  Four other Nixon Peabody associates will join Winston & Strawn along with the four partners.
The team specialises in middle market transactions, as well as the ongoing management of fund portfolio companies. The team also represents public companies in mergers and acquisitions; going-private transactions; tender offers; cross-border transactions; special committee matters; PIPE transactions; corporate restructurings, reorganisations and bankruptcies; corporate governance; and SEC compliance matters.
The new lawyers will bring a transactional experience that will complement Winston & Strawn’s well established fund formation practice, the firm said in a statement.
