Walton Street Capital raises $1.2bn

Walton Street Capital has raised $1.2 billion for its Walton Street Real Estate Fund VIII, per a SEC filing. The Chicago-headquartered firm began fundraising in 2015 with a $1.5 billion target.

Its previous fund raised $1.39 billion in 2014.

Investors that committed to Walton Street Real Estate Fund VIII include the Maine Public Employees Retirement System, the Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System and the Oakland County Pension Trust Funds.

The fund will target opportunistic opportunities in a diverse number of properties in North America.
