Threadmark hires US RE head

The placement agency, which expanded into the US last year, has tapped a former Jamestown and Paladin executive to spearhead its Americas real estate business.

London-based Threadmark Partners is expanding its US real estate business with a new senior hire, almost a year after establishing a transatlantic presence.

The private fund placement agency hired Ferhat Guven as senior vice president in its New York office, according to a Monday statement.

The 13-person firm opened its US office last October with one senior vice president, Andrew Harris, PERE previously reported. Guven joins Harris and Nick Artemenkov, a vice president, in the expanding office. The other executives focus on credit, private equity and infrastructure related mandates, while Guven will lead the firm's US real estate activities.

Guven joins Threadmark from Altitude Advisors, a firm he founded in May 2015 to advise a private real assets investment group. He previously held managing director roles at private equity real estate firm Jamestown and Paladin Realty Partners, where he worked on both Turkey and Latin America focused teams.

“Ferhat has been involved on the direct real estate side, which furthers our credentials in working with clients on strategies besides fundraising” Gales told PERE. “Fundraising requires many skill sets and we value Ferhat’s experience in the emerging markets background since he cut his teeth in a challenging environment”.

Threadmark, founded in 2010, has raised over $16 billion for more than 30 strategies, largely focused on real estate and real assets, according to Monday’s statement.
