Thor Equities CFO Schurer resigns

The executive held the position for nine years before leaving to focus on philanthropic work.

Michael Schurer has resigned from his position as chief financial officer at Thor Equities after nine years, PERE's sister publication, Private Funds Management, reported Tuesday.

Schurer will continue his affiliation with the New York-based developer and fund manager as chief advisor, working primarily on investments in Mexico under the umbrella of Thor Urbana Capital, an investment firm in Mexico City in which Thor owns a stake.

He will also be pursuing philanthropic ventures, and has been named treasurer and board member at charity America Responds with Love.

Schurer was responsible for managing and reporting on the performance of the company’s investments, overseeing the finance, accounting, risk management, asset management, legal, information systems and investor relations. A replacement is yet to be named.

Thor Equities owns property across the US, Europe, Canada and Latin America.
