TH Real Estate’s Sharpe to leave – exclusive

Victoria Sharpe, the firm’s global head of investor relations, will leave the real estate asset management firm after only 18 months.

The global head of TH Real Estate’s client capital group, Victoria Sharpe, is set to leave the firm only 18 months after joining from Prudential Asset Management, PERE has learnt.

Sharpe joined the London-based real estate asset management firm back in July 2014 and was responsible for client services, distribution and marketing worldwide.

In her role of providing investors with a link to all the real estate funds and products managed by TH Real Estate she was based in New York and reported to chief executive James Darkins, who himself is leaving the firm at the end of the year through retirement. Mike Sales, formerly managing director, Europe for TH Real Estate took over as head of the company on September 1.

Sales said: “We can confirm that Vickie Sharpe will be leaving the business. Vickie joined in 2014 with the objective to build out our global client capital group, comprising our distribution and investor relations services. Over that time, she has built out the team, adding valuable resource across Europe and North America, in addition to working closely with our Asia Pacific team to refine services in that region. We appreciate Vickie’s contributions for TH Real Estate over the past 18 months. We consider her a good friend and colleague and she leaves with our very best wishes.”

Prior to her time at TH Real Estate, Sharpe worked at Prudential Asset Management, the asset management arm of US insurer Prudential Financial.

Before that, she spent 13 years with Pramerica Real Estate Investors, where she held positions across the globe including in New Jersey, Singapore and Munich. In March 2013, Pramerica announced she was leaving her position as head of its Asia business for a new role with Prudential Asset Management’s global institutional relationship group.

Sharpe’s departure comes at a time of expansion for TH Real Estate and the firm had recently strengthened its bench with three hires in Europe. In July, the firm appointed logistics specialist Tim Hennes senior investment manager in TH Real Estate’s Frankfurt office.

Hennes joins TH Real Estate from Paris-based real estate investment manager AEW Europe.

TH Real Estate also bolstered its Southern European business with appointments in Spain and Italy. Maurice Meulendijk joins as a new asset manager, based in the Madrid office, and Gianluca Scarcella as a portfolio manager based in Milan.
