Texas TRS approves $760m in commitments

The US public pension fund has invested in four private equity limited partnerships.

In September 2018, the Teacher Retirement System of Texas committed $10 million to Clearlake’s Amber Co-Investment Partners, $300 million to Permira Star Opportunities, $150 million to Vista Equity Partners VII and $300 million to Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners IX.

Each fund has a focus on the US, apart from Permira Star Opportunities, which is focused on international developed markets.

The $151 billion US public pension has a 13 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 13.2 percent.
