SCRS continues increasing real estate allocation

The South Carolina pension's real estate target is now 7 percent.

At its committee meeting this month, the South Carolina Retirement System stated that its actual real estate allocation is expected to continue to increase over time by 1 percent, while continuing to improve the balance between the core and non-core portfolios.

The $32 billion US public pension has a 7 percent target allocation to real estate that currently stands at 5.7 percent.
