Sampension backs Nuveen Real Estate value-add fund

The public pension committed €75 million to a value-add fund.

Danish public pension fund Sampension has committed €75 million to real estate vehicle Nuveen European Value-Add Fund I, according to a pension source.

Founded in 1898, Nuveen Real Estate is based in the UK and provides investment management services to its clients. This is the first time Sampension has committed to a Nuveen-managed real estate fund.

The vehicle will seek value-add opportunities in Europe.

Sampension allocates 13.3% of its total investment portfolio to real estate, comprising DKK 10.74 billion ($1.5 billion; €1.4 billion) in capital.
