Rockpoint hires ex-Beacon capital raising exec

Hank Midgley will lead the firm’s investor relations and capital raising activities. He takes over from principal Kathryn Corro.

Rockpoint Group has hired former Beacon Capital Partners managing director Hank Midgley to lead its investor relations, capital raising and business development activities.

Midgley joined the firm in its Boston office two weeks ago after nearly three years at Beacon. Midgley will take over the responsibilities of principal Kathryn Corro, who will leave in mid-May. Corro has been with the Rockpoint team when they were part of Westbrook Partners.

Midgley will help expand the firm’s investor base to include more non-US investors.

Rockpoint closed its fourth opportunity fund, Rockpoint Real Estate Fund III, in 2007 with $2.5 billion in capital commitments, and has raised more than $5.6 billion in capital commitments since 2004, according to the PERE 30 ranking of the largest private equity real estate firms in the world.
