Private equity firm buys Poland's largest carpark operator

Royalton Capital Investors II, a fund managed by a firm targeting investments in Central and Eastern Europe, has bought 93 percent of the shares in Cool Ar.


Royalton Capital Investors has acquired Poland’s largest operator of paid-for car parking spaces.

The private equity firm formed in 1996 to target Central and Eastern Europe said it had acquired 93 percent of the shares in Cool Ar which owns Activ Parking. The carpark operator has more than 40,000 spaces under management. It was established in 1994 and has sites in 25 Polish towns and cities.

Nigel Williams, managing  partner  at  Royalton  Partners, said the firm intended to expand its carparking business in Hungary and Romania. It already has operations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Its latest portfolio company has been acquired by Royalton Capital  Investors II, which was established in 2007.
