Placement agent Monument appoints HK head

Niklas Amundsson has left rival placement agent MVision to join the firm as a managing director in its Hong Kong office.

Former Asia partner at London-headquartered placement agent MVision Private Equity Advisers has joined Boston-based rival placement agent firm the Monument Group.

Amundsson joins Monument as managing director in its Hong Kong office as part of its strategy to grow relationships with Asia-based investors. The firm opened its office in Hong Kong in March last year, shortly before opening in Tokyo.

“Monument Group is dedicated to building solid relationships with Asian investors,” Amundsson commented. “I’m delighted to join a team that values building long-term relationships with investors and the general partner community as the foundation to new investment opportunities and capital.”

“As we continue to expand our footprint in the region, he [Niclas] brings knowledge and relationships that will help us to succeed in the selective Asian market,” Bob Mast, managing director at Monument, added.

Monument has previously acted for private real estate investment firms including London-based private equity real estate firm Patron Capital for its fourth fund, Patron Capital L.P. Fund IV, a €780 million vehicle, and Hong Kong-based Phoenix Property Investors’ $750 million fifth opportunity fund, Phoenix Asia Real Estate Investments V.
