Perella Weinberg loses head of RE advisory

Kevin Stahl has joined Stan Johnson Company as managing director.

Perella Weinberg Partners’ partner and head of real estate advisory business, Kevin Stahl, has left for Stan Johnson Company (SJC), the latter announced yesterday.

Stahl joins the New York-based commercial real estate investment firm with more than two decades of experience in transactions across public and private real estate companies. He has spent 22 years in the real estate industry, according to the SJC statement. Prior to his three-year tenure at Perella, he was RBC Capital Markets’ managing director and co-head of US real estate investment banking. He previously worked for GE Real Estate, Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley.

The new executive managing director will launch and build a corporate finance service line to expand SJC’s client base and serve existing clients. SJC sees this new service line as an extension of the firm’s investments in net-lease-focused buildings. The firm plans to expand beyond brokerage to provide financing through this new platform.

“Kevin possesses a strong and unique real estate finance, capital markets and advisory background, and is well positioned to lead this charge for SJC,” said Stan Johnson, the company’s chief executive officer and founder, in a statement.
