2019 PERE Awards: You wanted the best

PERE presents its annual award winners spanning multiple regions and 66 categories – the most we have ever run.

The thousands of votes have been tallied. The winners have been identified. It’s that time again: the PERE Global Awards.

Voting closed in January and the market’s verdict is in, separating the best from the rest both globally and regionally – in Asia-Pacific, the Americas and Europe – across 66 award categories. That is a greater number of awards than we have ever run before and the expanded list both reflects and celebrates excellence in private real estate.

The winners themselves need no introduction. Blackstone is the most successful firm in the history of the awards and claims another nine category wins this time around. Asian peer GLP takes eight, including awards for Global Firm of the Year and Global Industry Figure of the Year, both of which it also picked up last time.

Joining those giants from New York and Singapore, respectively, is European heavyweight Henderson Park, which also won eight awards – seven regionally as well as the global office investor gong.

All of our winners have emerged after a long and rigorous process that kicked off back in November when the editorial team began canvassing the views of colleagues and contacts to find out which capital providers, managers and advisors in the private real estate market most deserved recognition.

Senior team members from PERE and parent company PEI Media then consulted trusted industry leaders to construct an impartial shortlist. The shortlist for each award category consisted of four firms, with companies also invited to submit nomination proposals to be considered – although these proposals were neither a requirement nor a guarantee that a firm would end up making the cut.

And then, we left it up to you.

The following pages reveal the industry’s judgment. You voted in your thousands and we thank you all. We also congratulate all the winners and runners up. You can read all about this year’s winners, including an interview with the winner of our Lifetime Achievement Award, over the following pages.
