Although some industry players anticipate a correction may be near, real estate’s long run of growth continues. Despite cycle fatigue and all manner of global uncertainty, the sector remains a magnet for investment capital seeking both stability and yield.
Yet, 2019 has hardly been a year for the status quo. There were record-setting fund closings and exits. Mega managers dominated the fundraising space at an unprecedented rate and more institutions ramped up in direct investing – even beyond the usual suspects. The topic of sustainability reached new levels of prominence and owners adopted a service-oriented approach to attract tenants.
For these reasons and others, 2019 has made its mark on the annals of private real estate. As we prepare to commemorate this year’s key milestones and movers and shakers, we turn to you to make sure credit is given where it is due.
Submissions are open for the 2019 PERE Global Awards – but only until this coming Monday, November 25.
As in years past, we will gather entries for a bevy of regional and global categories, distill those candidates into a list of finalists and then put them back to the industry to choose the winners. But all that begins with you, the market participants, putting forth your accomplishments from the year to date.
Multiple elite members of the PERE 100 have already thrown their hats in the ring for our annual recognition of industry excellence. Have you submitted your own highlights for consideration yet? If yes, thank you for taking the time do so. If not, time is running out; again, you only have until Monday, November 25 to make your accomplishments known. Click here to send in your submission.
While we encourage firms to pursue recognition in multiple categories, we also recommend keeping each submission as concise as possible. A paragraph or two of introduction followed by bullet points of key details will suffice. Focus on fundraising totals, returns, noteworthy transactions, innovative strategies or anything else that makes the firm or individual stand out.
Looking for some helpful insight on what distinguishes a candidate in the shortlisting process? See our coverage of last year’s winners. For a full list of this year’s awards categories, please refer to our initial call to action.
Industry veterans may notice that, along with our offering of perennial accolades for top firms, investors, deals and capital raises – as well as the highly coveted Industry Figure of the Year – we have 19 new categories for 2019. Among those are new regional versions of the office, retail, logistics, residential, hotel and leisure, and alternatives investors of the year honors, categories that were once exclusively judged globally – a change we made in recognition of the growing specialization of the industry.
As journalists, we hold deadlines sacrosanct. No extensions will be granted so be sure to have your submission in by the end of the day on Monday, November 25, Eastern Standard Time.
We look forward to receiving your submissions, which you can send to us via this form, and learning more about your impressive feats in 2019.
