Partners Group moves into Paris

Partners Group, the Switzerland-based private markets investment manager, has continued its international expansion with the launch of a new office in Paris. The firm, which now has 15 offices in total around the world, has opened five of these offices since the beginning of last year.

Partners Group, the Swiss-based manager and adviser which specialises in real estate among other asset classes, has opened a new office in Paris headed by Gilbert de la Ferrière.

In a statement, the firm said it already has more than €800 million invested in France, including 10 direct investments, and “intends to further develop its existing investment activities going forward”. It added that it has a number of important French financial institutions among its client base and that the new office would provide it with proximity to these clients.

“We believe this local presence allows us to not only identify additional attractive investment opportunities but also to offer clients in the region a superior level of service,” said de la Ferrière in the statement.

The move continues Partners’ rapid rollout of offices around the world. In February this year, it planted its first flag in South America via a new Brazil office in Sao Paolo headed by Karin Hallin. Last year, the firm launched new offices in Dubai, Munich and Seoul.

In all, Partners Group has over €20 billion in investment programmes under management in private equity, private real estate, private infrastructure and private debt. The firm closed its most recent infrastructure investment vehicle – Partners Group Global Infrastructure 2009 – on a hard cap of €500 million in March this year
