Park Hill adds Michael Stark to real estate group

Placement agent Park Hill Real Estate, a subsidiary of The Blackstone Group, has hired Michael Stark as a senior managing principal.

New York-based placement agent Park Hill Real Estate Group announced today it has hired Michael Stark to join Charles Purse and Frank Schmitz as senior managing principals at the firm.

“Michael is clearly recognized as one of the outstanding talents in the placement industry and we are extremely enthusiastic with this senior addition to Park Hill Real Estate,” Ken Whitney, Blackstone senior managing director, said in a statement.

Stark was previously with Credit Suisse as a director and founding member of the Real Estate Private Fund Group. Prior to that, he worked in the real estate investment banking divisions at Credit Suisse and Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette, an investment bank acquired by Credit Suisse in 2000.

“We are delighted to have Michael join our team,” Chuck Purse, senior managing principal at Park Hill, said in the statement. “His skills and experience are uniquely suited to deepen our capability to serve our clients within both the sponsor and investor communities.”

Park Hill was created by Blackstone in 2005. The firm’s real estate group is helmed by Purse, also formerly of Credit Suisse, and Schmitz, who was the head of Principal Real Estate Investors.

Since inception, Park Hill has helped their clients raise $54 billion (€39 billion) in capital.
