Octopus Group raises £230m

The London-headquartered firm closed its second RE debt fund at hard-cap.

Octopus Group held a final close for its Octopus Commercial Real Estate Debt Fund II at £230 million. The fund was launched in June 2017, with a target at £200 million. The firm held a first close at £115 million last September.

The £230 million capital came from nine external investors, plus a £30 million contribution from discretionary funds managed by Octopus. The external investors comprise pension funds from the UK, the Nordics and Switzerland, as well as two fund of funds vehicles.

The firm will use the capital to make mezzanine debt investments in UK’s real estate sector.
