Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners has appointed two portfolio managers to build its real estate funds of funds business, Carolijn ter Haar and David Boyle.
ter Haar was previously senior fund manager at European asset manager Mn Services, managing listed and private real estate portfolios. She has also worked for Richard Ellis. ter Haar will be based in London.
Boyle, who will be based in New York, was founding principal of real estate advisory firm REMCap before joining Morgan Stanley. He has also worked with APG Investments US and Brookfield Asset Management.
Both will report directly to chief investment officer Joseph Stecher. Morgan Stanley launched its real estate funds of funds business in 2008.
A statement said ter Haar and Boyle would work closely with Stecher to “evaluate investment opportunities across Europe, the Americas and Asia”.
