Mercury Capital completes triple hire

The global placement agent has added three new team members to work out of its New York office.

Following the hiring of seven professionals in October, placement agent Mercury Capital Advisors has continued its expansion with the hiring of three more professionals to its New York team.

Michael Manfredonia has joined Mercury as partner, chief operating officer and chief financial officer. He joins the placement agent from Goldman Sachs, where he worked for 24 years. Manfredonia spent the last seven years as chief financial officer of the human capital management division at the Wall Street bank.

Taryn Iwan has been hired as a partner responsible for origination for the firm, focused on private equity general partners in the US. She will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with a range of private equity fund GPs in the US, performing due diligence on their funds and leading selected fundraising mandates. Prior to joining Mercury, Iwan was a managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in its Financial Sponsors Group. She worked for the bank and Merrill Lynch before BoA’s takeover in 2009 for 17 years. During her time with the bank, she worked closely with the Mercury Capital Advisors team before it spun out from Merrill Lynch in the same year. It was called the Merrill Lynch Private Equity Funds Group team then.

Michael Keaveney has been appointed vice president in distribution, and is focused on servicing limited partners in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states of the US and Quebec. Keaveney joins from Atlantic-Pacific Capital. He also previously worked at Performance Equity.

According to Mercury, all three team members will be working out of the firm’s New York office. They will report directly to the three managing partners: Michael Ricciardi, Alan Pardee and Enrique Cuan.

News of these three hires follows the announcement in October that Mercury added seven professionals to its teams in Boston, New York and London.

Mercury raises fund for private equity, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, distressed, mezzanine and secondary investment managers. Besides advising on capital raising for funds, it also advises in areas including co-investment, direct deal placement, secondary sales and placement of private investment in public equities.
