M7 Real Estate, the London-based investment management firm, has continued its European expansion with the opening of an office in Lisbon, Portugal and the hire of an executive to run it.
The firm, which last month opened an office in the Czech Republic capital Prague, said it hired Eduardo Craveiro Lopes as a senior asset manager with a view to expanding its presence in the country.
Lopes’ ‘core role’ is to provide asset management services for a €250 million joint venture with an unnamed US investment manager which was set up in October and called MPort. It is aimed at investments in high yielding Portuguese real estate.
Lopes will also be mandated to source additional investments and integrate them into the MPort portfolio.
The firm said an initial two investments valued at €60 million are currently under offer.
Lopes joined from Construmed, a Portuguese residential asset management company, for which he was a senior asset management also. He has 13 years of experience within the Portuguese real estate market such as Tagus Park, Lagoas Park at Teixeira Duarte Imobiliária, and Jones Lang LaSalle.
Jack Thoms, M7 Real Estate’s head of European asset management, said: “Eduardo has an impressive track record within the Portuguese real estate market and brings important on-the-ground expertise.”
