Legal and General hires specialist funds research pro

Adelaide Gray is joining the UK insurer's property team from property services firm King Sturge to enhance the group's knowledge of trends affecting its specialist portfolio of assets.

Legal & General Property has appointed a research specialist to help boost its funds division.

Adelaide Gray becomes specialist funds research manager, the UK insurance company said in a statement.

Legal & General Property (LGP), which is headed by former RREEF UK chief execuitve Bill Hughes, manages ten specialist funds, all focussed on the UK. 

Adelaide was previosuly research partner at property services firm King Sturge, where she worked for ten years. In her new position, she will report to LGP?s head of research, Robin Martin.

In a statment, the insurer said: “Adelaide will be responsible for establishing a research offering dedicated to enhancing LGP?s understanding of the trends affecting each specialist portfolio of assets.”

She will focus on monitoring market indicators, detailed occupational market analysis and contributing to fund strategy.

Property head Hughes, said: “In light of the current difficult market conditions and with the growing diversity of LGP?s business, research will play an increasingly crucial role in setting the company apart from its peer group. As a manager of a number of specialist funds, we need market insight and strategies for taking advantage of the market conditions.”
