INREV ponders Asia coverage

Europe's association for unlisted funds wants to expand its remit to Asia because of interest in the region from European institutional investors.

INREV, the European Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles, is to explore the Asia non-listed market.

The decision was taken during MIPIM week in March but has only just been made public.

In a statement, INREV's chief executive Lisette van Doorn [pictured] said the association's Members Survey last year received strong support for expanding coverage internationally.

“The leading reason for institutional investors being interested in an Asian database was to enable them to review existing funds in given markets,” she said.

“The management board has therefore decided to explore the Asian non-listed real estate funds market, preferably through co-operation with local organisations, in response to members' demands.”
