ING RE Select appoints de Wit for management role

ING Real Estate Select has appointed Ivo de Wit as global portfolio manager to cope with “new global business” across its multi-manager platform. de Wit previously held the same position within the global executive team at ING Real Estate.

ING Real Estate Select, the global multi-manager business of ING Real Estate, has increased the size of the organisation with the appointment of Ivo de Wit as global portfolio manager.

de Wit previously held the same position within the global executive team at ING Real Estate but was brought over to the multi-manager business as a result of the firm winning “new global business”, according to a statement.

ING Real Estate Select said de Wit would work closely with Damien Smith, chief investment officer, and would be based in ING’s London office. His responsibilities will include working on the firm’s €1 billion global fund of funds, Global Osiris, which was launched in July last year and targets core property fund managers.

The fund was launched with £150 million ($221 million; €164 million) of seed capital from the London Pension Fund Authority.

de Wit has more than 10 years experience in real estate investment, working across ING Real Estate’s global network, including in the US where he was head of strategy for ING Clarion responsible for fund strategies and forecasting. He was also involved allocating ING Real Estate’s capital allocations to its various businesses.
