Hodes Weill & Associates, the New York advisory firm, has made additional hires as it further bulks up its bench of senior professionals.
The company has already been expanding at a clip, with the addition of an office in London and Hong Kong in recent weeks and commensurate hires in those cities. The firm has now added two more senior advisors – one from Brookfield Asset Management and the other from Merrill Lynch Private Equity Funds Group spin out, Mercury Capital Advisors.
For its New York office it has hired Matt Hershey as a principal responsible for coverage of institutional investors in North America. Previously, he was a senior vice president at Toronto and New York-based Brookfield. At Brookfield he was charged with coordinating sales and client service for all investors and consultants in the US northeast and mid-west for the firm’s real estate, infrastructure and private equity investment vehicles. Prior to joining the Canadian outfit, he was at Tishman Speyer from 2000 to 2006.
Meanwhile in the London office, the firm has taken on Matilde Attolico who will join in June as a principal responsible for coverage of institutional investors in the Middle East, Scandinavia and the UK. Previously, she was a partner at Mercury, the global private fund raising and investment advisory firm. At Merrill Lynch Private Equity Funds Group – the predecessor to Mercury – Attolico was responsible for advising investors in Scandinavia, the Middle East and the UK on their alternative investments in private equity, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, mezzanine and distressed funds.
“With the addition of Matt and Matilde to the firm, we continue to expand our global coverage of the institutional real estate market with extremely talented, high-quality professionals,” said David Hodes, co-founder and managing partner. Each has tremendous credibility and experience working with global institutions to assist them in implementing their investment strategies.”
