Hodes Weill appoints Rowson as Europe partner

The New York-based capital advisory firm has hired the 29-year industry veteran from CBRE Global Investors, where he was CIO and chairman in Europe.

Hodes Weill & Associates, the New York-based capital advisory firm, has hired CBRE Global Investors’ chief investment officer and chairman for Europe, Will Rowson, as a partner responsible for the its activities in the region. The appointment is a rare example of a principal investment executive joining an advisory business.

In Rowson, Hodes Weill is hiring a senior real estate investment executive with 29 years of industry experience. He joined CBRE via its acquisition of ING Real Estate Investment Management, the real estate investment management platform of Dutch bank ING which it acquired three years ago. He joined ING 11 years ago, before which he worked for property agency Strutt & Parker.

Rowson effectively replaces the firm’s former European partner Dominic Field, who left in the summer and has since started his own business focused on the UK residential market.

David Hodes, co-founder of Hodes Weill, said: “[Rowson] is well known in property circles and is very highly regarded. One of our goals was to identify a London partner who was a senior real estate industry leader, though not from a purely fund raising or advisory perspective. We think that given his background Will adds a new dimension to our business.”

Rowson will be based in Hodes Weill’s London office where it currently employs two staff.
