Goldman Sachs raises $4.2bn

The US investment giant has completed fundraising for its Europe and US-focused real estate credit vehicle.

Goldman Sachs Principal Investment Area has raised a total of $4.2 billion in the final close of its Broad Street Real Estate Credit Partners III.

Of the total $4.2 billion capital, $1.7 billion was contributed by Goldman Sachs, while the remaining was raised from institutional investors.

Fund III will be invested in origination opportunities in both senior and mezzanine loans backed by high-quality assets in major markets in the US and Europe. The investments size will vary between $100 million and $500 million.
