Former MVision partner forms advisory firm

Mitchell Sikora has launched JTP Capital, a New York-based placement agency and advisory firm focused on real estate.

A former partner at London- and New York-based private equity placement agent MVision has decided to open his own shop, PERE has learned.

Mitchell Sikora, whose specialty at MVision was real estate firms, has formed his own placement agency and advisory firm. Based in New York, JTP Capital will help real estate fund managers raise capital, as well as serve as an advisor to those fund managers after the fundraising period has concluded.

“JTP intends to provide a more long-term relationship with its clients,” Sikora told PERE. “We’ll be there when they’re in market as well as when they’re out of market.”

JTP currently is advising one fund manager that is amidst raising a $200 million value-added vehicle, Sikora noted, declining to name the client. In addition, he added that he currently is in talks with a handful of GPs that have expressed interest in his firm’s services.

Sikora previously was one of three real estate-focused professionals at MVision, along with Scott Arden and Carrie Coulson. It was announced in September that Arden had left to join Los Angeles-based investment banking firm Triton Pacific Capital.

The name JTP Capital is a variation on JT Partners, an independent placement agency that Sikora formed with his colleague Peter Finley in 2006, before joining MVision in 2010. Prior to forming JT Partners, Sikora and Finley worked in the real estate, leisure and lodging group at UBS, where they ran the investment bank's private equity real estate placement group.
