The former senior managing director of client services at Legacy Partners Commercial will advise JPMorgan’s US institutional clients on global real estate investment strategy. He will work out of the banking giant’s San Francisco office.

JPMorgan Asset Management – Global Real Assets has appointed John Faust as a managing director and client portfolio manager for real estate.

According to a statement from the New York-based banking giant, Faust will be based in San Francisco and is responsible for advising JPMorgan’s US institutional clients on global real estate investment strategy. He will report directly to Michael O’Brien, global head of client relations and strategy.

“John’s experience will help investors access the benefits of real estate and diversify their real estate allocations across regions and the risk/return spectrum,” said O’Brien in a statement.

Faust joins JPMorgan from Foster City, California-based real estate investment manager Legacy Partners Commercial, where he led institutional client relations since 2003. Previously, he worked in various capacities, including asset management and institutional sales, at Equitable Real Estate/Lend Lease.
