EXCLUSIVE: Park Madison hires new principal

The New York-based real estate placement and advisory firm has recruited a former managing director from Forbes Private Capital Group.

Park Madison Partners has brought on a new principal, Amy Thiessen, formerly a managing director at Forbes Private Capital Group. She will focus on global distribution and be based in New York.

Thiessen previously was responsible for raising capital from institutions and family offices in the Northeast at Forbes Private Capital Group, which she joined in 2013. Before Forbes, she served as associate director for one year at AEW Europe, where her duties included business development and client relationship management. In addition to roles at Crown Properties Group and Forest Investment Associates, Thiessen also worked at DTZ in London from 2006 to 2008 in the firm’s private fund placement team, raising capital for private equity real estate strategies.

“Amy’s track record in working with real estate investment products both in the US and Europe and her complementary network of investors will further broaden our distribution capabilities in the real estate private equity space,” said Nancy Lashine, Park Madison’s managing partner and founder, in a statement.

Thiessen represents Park Madison’s first new senior recruit since the hire of Carrie Coulson, a former director at MVision Private Equity Advisers, in 2013. Last summer, the firm lost its co-founder, Suzanne West, who left to join Los Angeles-based AVP Advisors as a managing principal.

Thiessen began her real estate investment banking career as an analyst in Deutsche Bank in London in 2005. Prior to working in real estate, she was a professional opera singer.
