Dechert names new fund formation partner

Former Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe partner Kevin Scanlan takes up a position at Dechert’s New York office specializing in private equity and real estate fund formation.

Law firm Dechert has named Kevin Scanlan as a new partner at their New York office focusing on private equity and real estate fund formation and investments.

Scanlan, who takes up his position immediately, was previously a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. George Mazin, co-head of Dechert’s private fund and hedge fund practice in the US said in a statement Scanlan had a broad range of experience that would help Dechert “significantly expand our capabilities.”

A graduate of Fordham University and New York University School of Law, Scanlan specializes in the structuring and formation of and investment in international and domestic private investment funds, particularly hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, venture capital funds and fund-of-funds.
