Composition Capital hires trio of senior execs

The Amsterdam-based fund of funds has appointed Morag Beers, previously TCN international portfolio strategist; Maarten Vermeulen, a former Protego director, and Lionel Low, formerly with ARA Managers.

Composition Capital Partners has appointed three senior executives from TCN, Protego Real Estate Investors and ARA Managers.

The Amsterdam-based fund of funds firm said Morag Beers was set to join the firm at the beginning of August after spending six years with Dutch real estate investment group, TCN, as international portfolio strategist raising equity investment and debt financing for the group. She will join as director of business development and investor relations and be based in Composition’s Amsterdam office.

Beers will be joined by Maarten Vermeulen, who started as Composition’s European director at the start of June.

Vermeulen spent the past three years at London-based Protego, where he was director responsible for European asset management, outside the UK. At Composition, Vermeulen will be responsible for managing the fund of funds’ investments across Europe, including deal sourcing, structuring and monitoring.

Lionel Low, a former senior fund manager at ARA Managers, also joined Composition this month as vice president, Asia. Low will be based in the firm’s Hong Kong office and be responsible for sourcing, due diligence and investment monitoring in the region.

Prior to ARA, Low was head of property transactions at AMP Capital Investors and has also worked for Pramerica Real Estate Investors (Asia).

Composition recently raised more than $350 million for its third and fourth fund of funds, including €184 million for its third fund of funds vehicle, Composition Capital Europe II – which is 50 percent invested – and $171 million for its fourth vehicle, Composition Capital Asia II – which is largely uninvested.
