Colliers Capital appoints chairman

The fund management arm of listed British property services firm Colliers CRE is beefing up its senior executive team in advance of a number of fund launches next year.

Colliers Capital has appointed Bob Bowden, the retiring head of investment at quoted property company British Land to become its chairman from January 1.

Colliers Capital is the fund management arm of UK property services firm, Colliers CRE, which is listed on London’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM).

The appointment comes in advance of a number of fund launches expected from Colliers Capital next year, including a healthcare vehicle.

Bowden will take up his position following retirement at the end of the year from British Land which converted into a Reit this year.

Colliers Capital took an important step in its development earlier this year when it appointed Elliot Caldwell to become chief executive. The former ING Real Estate Investment Management real estate professional was most recently head of retail investor products at ING and the fund manager for the stock market-listed ING UK Real Estate Income Trust.

In a statement hailing the appointment of Bowden, Caldwell said: “Since my appointment in July we have been working on a number of specialist fund launches in the UK, including a healthcare fund in partnership with ING, as well as planned vehicles in the hotel and caravan park sectors, which we will be announcing in the coming months.”

He added that Bowden gave “further impetus” to the growth strategy in the UK and internationally.
