CBRE Investors hires Matt Khourie as president

The former Trammell Crow veteran will led day-to-day management of the private equity real estate group, reporting to CEO Vance Maddocks.

Matt Khourie has joined CBRE Investors as president in charge of day-to-day operations of the firm.

Khourie will report to chief executive officer Vance Maddocks, who will focus on strategy and the firm’s existing portfolio, CBRE Investors said in a statement.

Khourie first joined real estate investment firm Trammell Crow Company in 1980 as project manager in its Houston retail division.

Since then he has held a number of positions including North East regional partner and latterly president of Trammell’s South East US development and investment unit sitting on Trammell’s executive and investment committee.

CBRE Investors eventually merged with Trammell in November 2006 in a deal valued at $2.2 billion, following a 20-month courtship.

Maddocks said in a prepared statement, Khourie’s appointment would allow him to “focus on strategic direction, our current portfolio of investments and to thoughtfully capitalise on the unique market opportunities this real estate cycle will provide.”
