CBRE appoints Kirke to lead APAC capital markets

The Los Angeles-headquartered real estate services firm has appointed former Colliers’ executive to lead its Asia Pacific capital markets business.

Global real estate investment group CBRE has appointed Richard Kirke as the managing director of its capital markets business in Asia Pacific, a newly created role.

Kirke will be responsible for the group’s capital markets, capital advisors and hotels business in the region.  He will assume the new position in the first quarter of 2015 and will be based in Hong Kong.

“Capital Markets is a central linchpin of both our global and APAC service offerings, and a key part of our growth strategy in the region is to build strong leadership across business lines,” Rob Blain, executive chairman, CBRE Asia Pacific said in a statement. “In recognition of this, we have created this important new role to drive our APAC Capital Markets business and strengthen our position as the undisputed market leader in all the key markets in which we operate.”

Kirke comes with over a decade of real estate experience. Prior to the appointment, he was the managing director of Colliers in Hong Kong for more than three years. He has also worked at CBRE’s New Zealand office. “Richard holds a strong reputation in the marketplace, built through performance, peer respect and credibility,” said Chris Ludeman, global president, CBRE Capital Markets.

“He will focus on creating best practices and premier services to drive our Capital Markets strategy in Asia Pacific and ensure we are providing the highest level of service and support to our clients throughout the region.”
