Carlyle promotes real estate pros

Oussama Daher has been promoted to managing director. He is among 33 Carlyle staff to be rewarded with new titles.

The Carlyle Group has made a raft of promotions across its organisation, including for London-based European real estate executive Oussama Daher. 

Daher, who has been made managing director, acts as chief financial administrative officer for the European real estate team. He is based in Luxembourg.

Prior to joining Carlyle in July 2001, he was at LaSalle Investment Management in Paris and Amsterdam, where he was financial controller for European real estate funds.

Washington DC-based Carlyle promoted 33 professionals, including seven people to managing director and 26 to principal/director.

Among other new managing directors are New York-based Stephen Wise, Singapore-based Anand Balasubrahmanyan and Hong Kong-based Alex Ying, all in the firm’s general private equity buyout group.

Ying spent four years as a member of Carlyle’s US real estate group before moving over to Carlyle Asia. He was formerly an investment banker with CIBC Oppenheimer.

New principals/directors include Catherine Chang, in Carlyle's Asia real estate team in Hong Kong; European real estate professionals Javier De Pablo, based in Madrid, and Olivier Petreschi and Agnes Riban, both of whom are based in Paris; Jason Hart, who works in the US real estate team in New York and Tom Levy, who is based with Carlyle's real estate team in Washington DC.
