Brush made chairman of RREEF opportunity funds

New York-based alternative asset manager RREEF has formalised the consultancy role that David Brush has been playing since 'retiring' from the firm earlier this year.

David Brush, the former head of global opportunity funds and head of Europe for RREEF’s real estate business has become chairman of both the global opportunity funds and their investment committees.

According to those familiar with the situation, he is working with RREEF managers on asset management and investment strategies on a day-to-day basis.

The appointment is being seen within the firm as a formalisation of a consultancy role Brush has held since ‘retiring’ from the firm at the beginning of the year after 20 years with the company.

His departure sparked changes within the organisation. Alistair Dixon, previously co-head of the real estate opportunity funds took over as head of global opportunity funds, while Pierre Cherki and Chris Papachristophorou took over the running of RREEF in Europe.

The company declined to comment.
