Brookfield has raised $2.43 billion to date for Brookfield Real Estate Finance Fund V, per a SEC filing. The Toronto-headquartered firm has set a $3 billion target and began fundraising in 2016.
Investors that committed to Brookfield Real Estate Finance Fund V include the New York State Teachers' Retirement System (NYSTRS), the Korean Teachers Credit Union (KTCU) and the Chicago Policemen's Annuity & Benefits Fund
Its previous fund raised $1.37 billion in 2014.
The fund will target mezzanine loan opportunities in North America's real estate market.
